“Being around the horses is the best part of working in this industry. I like to look into a horse’s eye. It’s one of my
favorite things to do.”
Leigha Perry began riding when she was 8 years old starting with lessons at Castle Rock Arabians. Her riding talent and gifted nature with horses rapidly bloomed into much
more than a childhood hobby. As a teenager, She competed in NATRC (a national trail competition) and won the California state championship in the Junior Open Division.
Leigha branched out quickly in her riding career, becoming part of the roots of the East Bay horse community. When Leigha was 17 she was a groom at Castle Rock Arabians working directly under Rob Bick. At 18 she was appointed assistant trainer to Rob. Her recognition
in the show world, as an instructor and trainer earned her invitations to come and work for some of the industries top California
trainers…like Rob Bick (now training at RBC in North Carolina), Caralyn Shroter, Murrel Lacey, Dean and Sheri Lacey, and Rich
Doran.
Dedicating her career and focus to the Arabian Show World, Leigha worked as a full-time trainer by the age of 20. Her
dedication and hard work paid off when she earned two National Championship titles in Hunter and
Show Hack at the Arabian Nationals while just 23 years old.
Not only has Leigha ridden her own career to the top of the industry, but she is proud to have instructed and trained several
Top Ten Amateur riders in her teaching career.
Leigha is CHA (Certified Horsemanship Association) Certified as a Level Three instructor in both English and Western
disciplines. She has a long and distinguished history of working with people and horses in the industry. Her reputation
preceeds her and sparked newcomers to the horse world to hire Leigha as a consultant in designing new facilities, from
conception to completion, in the local community.
Currently Leigha trains at both DiabloView Farms and Castle Rock Arabians. Her dedicated clients continue to follow her wherever
she may go.
